Spells can be cast with pure magic, connection with a runestone, or in conjunction with physical objects like plants or finely ground lunar lenses.
Runestones can be used together with spells; Shadow Weaver does this when teleporting from the Moonstone to the Fright Zone with Glimmer and crew.
Spell of Obtainment[]
The Spell of Obtainment was used in the Season Two episode "Light Spinner". It is a forbidden spell; Norwyn called it an evil spell. Shadow Weaver, then Light Spinner, learned the spell and changed it to try to defeat the Horde with it. However, the spell went wrong and changed Light Spinner into her current destructive, magic-thieving form.
Levitation[]
In the Season Two episode "Light Spinner", Micah asked Light Spinner to teach him levitation, but she told him he was too young according to sorcerer law. Glimmer later uses this spell in Season Four.
Shape-Shifting[]
In the episode "Light Spinner", Micah asked Light Spinner to teach him shape-shifting, but she told him he was too young according to sorcerer law. As an adult, he apparently learned the spell, which allowed him to change his appearance to act as a She-Ra decoy.[1] The result was a perfect replication of Adora's She-Ra appearance, and Micah was able to change only his face back to reveal himself. It is unknown if he can change his voice as well.
Teleportation[]
Shadow Weaver used a teleportation spell one time; she used it when escaping the Fright Zone to escape to Bright Moon. She used crystal powder and a spell. This is a dangerous and rare spell that nearly destroyed the sorcerer.
Truth Spell[]
Both Castaspella and King Micah cast truth spells in Season Three. Castaspella used it on Shadow Weaver in "The Price of Power", and King Micah used it on Adora in "The Portal". Glimmer learns this spell from Shadow Weaver in Season Four, who tells her to focus, after various failed attempts, and uses it on Double Trouble.
Spell of Protection[]
Norwyn and Micah each cast a protective spell when Light Spinner, who was under the possession of the Spell of Obtainment, attacked them.[2]
Summoning scroll spell[]
Castaspella used this spell in "The Coronation" to give the Best Friends Squad the rules of the Quest of Queens.
Location spell[]
In the episode "Pulse", Shadow Weaver taught Glimmer to use a location spell to identify Catra's location.
Fireball[]
King Micah is the only character seen to have used this spell. First, he used the spell on Beast Island to fight against pookas, and when he was chipped to fight Frosta and Netossa.
Shadow Spy[]
Shadow Weaver used it throughout Season One to spy on Best Friends Squad in Seaworthy, Thaymor and Mystacor.
Light illusions[]
In the episode "Light Spinner", it opens on a bird created by casting light illusions. The winged creature is destroyed by a young Micah's illusion of a goat, but Light Spinner returns the favour after Micah gets distracted.
