Mermista and Sea Hawk

Sea Hawk and Mermista are a canonically confirmed couple within the She-Ra and the Princesses of Power series. They are also sometimes referred to with the name "Seamista" by the fandom.

Past[]

According to Sea Hawk, the first time the two met, Mermista tried to kill him.[1]

They are implied to have some romantic history with each other; and Sea Hawk seems to have ruined many of their dates.

Sea Hawk: "We have a... rich and complicated past."
Mermista: "If by that you mean you got us kicked out of the dolphin social by challenging the doorman to a duel, then sure."
Sea Hawk: "I don't recall doing that."
Mermista: "Or that time you set our gondola on fire in the Tunnel of Love?"
Sea Hawk: "Ooo... that I do recall."

Season One[]

When the Best Friend Squad first meet Sea Hawk in "The Sea Gate", he claims to that Mermista is his "close personal friend" and will be excited to see him. However, Mermista's response to him arriving at her castle is "Ew, who let him back in here?" She then complains about Sea Hawk being "so annoying", and says that "he has to leave".

At the end of the episode, Mermista gives Sea Hawk one of her ships, to replace the one he burned during the recent battle. Sea Hawk then helps persuade Mermista to join the new Princess Alliance.

Later, Sea Hawk attends Princess Prom with Mermista. When Adora points this out, Mermista blushes and insists that he is "just her ride", but Sea Hawk says he is her plus one.

Season Two[]

In "White Out", Sea Hawk is upset because Mermista cancelled their plans to hang out with her other friends, and didn't invite him to join.

Season Four[]

Mermista becomes convinced that there is a Horde spy in Bright Moon, and insists on interrogating people in the castle. Perfuma brings Sea Hawk in for questioning, since Mermista said everyone is a suspect; Mermista is annoyed about this, saying Sea Hawk definitely isn't the spy. Sea Hawk proceeds to give a much-exaggerated account of his role in the battle for Dryl, which Mermista points out the inaccuracies of. Sea Hawk also mentions the book Mer-Mystery: Serpent of the Sea, to which Mermista says, "Is that where my book went? Sea Hawk, I've been looking for it."

Perfuma notices some other discrepancies between other accounts of the battle, but before she can put the pieces together, Sea Hawk interrupts to ask who wants to see him do some squats, at which point Mermista shoves him out the door.

A little while later, Sea Hawk breaks down crying that he lied, he didn't fight 300 Horde soldiers, and asks Mermista if she can ever forgive him. She says that "we all knew that."

Later, after finding out that the Horde conquered Salineas, Mermista relegates herself to moping in a bathtub in Bright Moon and eating ice cream. In an attempt to cheer her up, as well as get Adora and Glimmer to stop fighting with each other, Sea Hawk hires his friend Bill to kidnap himself, Bow, and Swift Wind. The plan goes awry when instead of getting kidnapped for pretend by Bill as intended, they get kidnapped for real by Admiral Scurvy, an enemy of Sea Hawk's. Scurvy then hands them over to the Horde in exchange for a hefty ransom. Sea Hawk manages to get a message to Mermista via seagull, as she taught him how to speak seagull, and Mermista gets Glimmer and Adora to come rescue them.

The three Princesses rescue Sea Hawk, Swift Wind, and Bow, and the six of them work together to defeat the Horde soldiers that were holding the boys captive. Sea Hawk starts to sing, but Mermista shuts him down, insisting on no shanties; she then starts a "rock remix," which she and Sea Hawk sing while fighting the Horde.

Afterward, everyone is aboard Sea Hawk's boat. Mermista says she's done just moping; she's ready to fight. She and Sea Hawk chat a bit, seemingly recounting the recent battle, and Mermista can be heard saying, "We should fight to music more often. It's awesome."

Sea Hawk: "And that is the tale of how I united everyone with my brilliant plan!"
Mermista: "Whatever, you goober. Your plan was terrible. But I’m done moping in a bathtub. I’m ready to fight, to destroy the Horde and get my kingdom back."
Sea Hawk: "That's my girl!"
Mermista: "Also, Bright Moon ran out of ice cream."
Sea Hawk: "That's... also my girl!"

Season Five[]

Prince Peekablue is said to be making an appearance at the Enchanted Grotto's underwater soiree, a gathering of criminals, and Sea Hawk and Mermista have devised a plan to sneak in so they can use the prince's powers of farsight to check on their friends in space. The soiree turns out to be full of Sea Hawk's former cohorts, who are looking for revenge on him since he set their boats on fire, so he and Mermista have to spend much of the time either hiding behind the bar or subduing his enemies, much to Mermista's annoyance. Then, after all of Sea Hawk's enemies have been dealt with, it is revealed that there is someone there who Mermista "cannot deal with right now," someone whose boat, she has to confess, she set on fire, because she "wanted to know what it felt like." At this, Sea Hawk says, "You are everything I've ever wanted." Blushing, Mermista says, "Stop looking at me like that."

Sometime later at the soiree, Mermista gets chipped, and starts fighting for Horde Prime. Sea Hawk is upset by this. Later, when he and the other remaining rebels are going through what's left of their camp, which was recently destroyed by a mind controlled Spinnerella, Micah, and other chipped former rebels, Sea Hawk picks up Mermista's Sea-Ra action figure, and gazes at it sadly.

In the final battle, Prime's forces, including Mermista, are attacking the Rebels. Sea Hawk comes up to Mermista, and just starts talking to her. He does his best to dodge her attacks, chatting, flirting, and generally annoying her all the while; and she does get annoyed, even through the mind control. Frustrated, she says, "Why are you like this?" Sea Hawk says it is because he loves her, which briefly gets through to her—she pauses her attacks, and her eyes momentarily flash from mind controlled green to their normal color. Sea Hawk adds that this was also a distraction; Perfuma hits Mermista's chip with a vine, damaging it and causing her to collapse into Sea Hawk's arms, unconscious.

Because I love you, dearest. …And also, it's a good distraction. Please forgive me for that when you're back to normal.
— Sea Hawk, "Heart Part 1"

In their final appearance, they are seen with their arms around each other, smiling, Mermista blushing at him, before Mermista pauses to question Entrapta's relationship with Hordak.
