  9. Rae Geiger confirms Jewelstar is canonically trans and that Perfuma was designed to be read as a trans woman in a tumblr post
  10. Perfuma is possibly a transgender woman based on a post by her character designer Rae Geiger, who stated that Perfuma was designed to be read as a trans woman although nothing was ever explicitly stated in canon and Geiger stated they regretted they never shared their intent with anyone so something could have been written into canon about it. This is also supported by creator Noelle Stevenson liking a tweet calling Perfuma a trans lesbian.
