This category is for articles have claims which are skeptical or lack support, and they need a reference provided. The article space is for canon material only, per the Wiki Rules. The claims marked by the {{Citation needed}}
template (viewed in the wiki Source Editor) need to be either referenced or removed.
How to add a reference easy[]
Visual Editor[]
- Find the uncited claim using Ctrl+F and searching for Citation needed
- Create a reference using the book icon ("Cite") on the toolbar
- Short-cut: Ctrl+Shift+K
- Add your reference.
Preferably remove the Citation needed template afterwards.
Source Editor[]
The Source Editor ([ ]
) has the same button for adding a citation as above. It can alternatively be done by manually adding the code:
- Find the uncited claim using Ctrl+F and searching for Citation needed
- Write in your reference directly, sandwiched between
<ref></ref>
tags
If you want to use pre-existing references:
- Name the pre-existing reference by replacing the opening
<ref>
tag with<ref name="example name">
- Repeat that reference wherever you want by writing
<ref name="example name"/>
in other places. A second closing tag is not needed
