At long last, after a very close final match, I am pleased to announce the winner of the Favorite Couple Tournament. As of this writing, they are leading by one vote. Thank you to everyone who voted.
So, without further ado, the winning couple is... Perfuma and Scorpia!
In second place, we have Sea Hawk and Mermista.
But I think we can all guess the real fan favorite couple -- Adora and Catra weren't included in this tournament, because I figured they'd win all their polls and it would be rather boring. But to find out for sure, I'll post a bonus poll in a day or so pitting Catradora against Scorfuma.
Thank you again to everyone who participated. I had fun with this, and I'm glad y'all did too.

It was a year ago today I had watched the She-Ra reboot on Netflix and announced this AU rewrite of the He-Man one (which I watched after the post) as a sequel in which Adora’s the one who gives Adam the sword instead of Teela and teaches him what she’s learned as She-Ra after he first becomes He-Man while she, Bow, and Catra take Duncan and Krass’s places in the main cast (the two of them would remain adults) and Bow makes Adam and Teela members of the Best Friends Squad, which Glimmer has left because of her queenly responsibilities. Plus, Evil-Lyn is Entrapta’s sister, Scorpia is Skeletor’s childhood best friend, and Bow and Adam fall in love. Also, in my post, I asked you people to help me out by giving ideas for stories, arcs, voices, throwback references and stuff but no one bothered! So, I decided to make a new one hoping somebody will. Here’s the link by the way: https://she-raandtheprincessesofpower.fandom.com/f/p/4400000000000046258.
Anyway, here are some, if not all, changes I’ve made so far:
*Entrapta and Hordak join them on their trip because she’s been taking care of Darla since the ending and he, for some reason, refuses to leave her. She stays with the BFS throughout most of the series. He on the other hand, well, let’s just say Skeletor’s gonna get involved.
*Mermista and Sea Hawk come too. Her reason involves her currently still fallen kingdom, his reason involves… well, adventure. They’ll both decide to leave after they help take down Mer-Man.
*Evil-Lyn is still Entrapta’s sister but after hearing Christine Woods’s real voice, I’ve decided to make them identical twins. When EL first appears, she sends Entrapta away and takes her place hoping to fool her (Entrapta’s) friends but they eventually find out. And by ‘eventually’, I mean they fall for the trick harder than Humpty Dumpty off that wall (remember, identical). Also, since Evil-Lyn’s real name is Evelyn, Entrapta’s will be Esther, a reference to her original counterpart’s name Es’Tra.
*I’ve also decided to change Cringer/Battlecat, who’s still an anthro, from Catra’s kittenhood idol to her long-lost father who left her when she was a kitten after her mother… I’m still working on that part. I read on this site that Catra is distantly related to the Magicats so I’m making him one too. Let’s just say as an autistic person, there are many reasons why I consider both these reboots guilty pleasures considering how much I like the 1980s originals.
*I’m thinking about reverting Duncan and Krass back to being the same age as Adam (don’t ask). Even if I don’t, they’ll still help the gang in their adventures.
*At first, I wanted Catra and Skeletor to be old roommates since he’s the same age as her and Adora, but then I changed it to him and Adora being rivals.
*I had already come up with how Skeletor and Scorpia met, become besties, and eventually got separated (their relationship is similar to Humpty and Puss’s, without the “brothers” part) prior to her first appearance in 2018, but I’m also giving it a twist. Let’s just say he’s not this show’s main antagonist.
*In my rewrite of “In-Can’t-Ation” (which is still an early draft), one major change is that instead of Orko the Great, Orko (who’s a combination of both the Tom Kenny and Wallace Shawn versions) uses his magic to go to Glimmer, who gives him the PSA.
*Since a different version of Hordak appeared in the (sigh) series finale, that part will be rewritten to EL summoning the spirit of… a figure whose name I shan’t say.
*Because it was never mentioned, Teela calls the Sorceress “Mom”. If you know your Masters of the Universe, you’d know why.
*I’ve decided to make “The Secret”, the multi-part pilot (based on the first four episodes, so far) that’s a loose rewrite of The Secret of the Sword, to be 3 parts, one for each season.
*I’m not sure if Miro should appear anymore. Physically anyway.
*As I mentioned in my previous post, I’m adding such characters as Mantenna (as a girl), Modulok, and Dragstor to the show. Well, I’ll also be including characters that were meant to appear in the cancelled season 4, which there will be by the way. According to the “Art of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe” book, one of them was Sy-Klone. I’m gonna check out the book via hoopla after posting this.
*I’m adding a holiday special between seasons. It’ll be like the 1985 Christmas special but the characters celebrate holidays from THEIR planets, and not just due to Queen Marlena not appearing yet.
*Although I'm still working on Mara's life on Eternia, I've made the He-Man of her time be named D'Vann. Yes, THAT D'Vann.
*This one was slightly last-minute but I'm thinking of making Skeletor Hordak's biological son.
The only voice cast extensions I’ve made aside from Woods as Evil-Lyn are Sean Giambrone as Orko and Kiki Layne as Teela. I’m also thinking about replacing Giullian with Booboo Stewart. Don’t ask why. Other than that, I’m gonna rewatch both shows and (try to) take notes on each so that I’ll be ready to release the 3-part (one for each original season) series pilot “The Secret” next year on the She-Ra Fanon Wiki and hopefully also WattPad. If you have any ideas on or suggestions for what I should add to this, comment below. I mean it this time. Any ones I use, I’ll credit you. If I make any more updates, I’ll wait until next year to post them.
For a starter conversation about ideas in my fanfic, I thought I'd start with one of my very favorite stories in my fanfic: Mermista's story!
(If you haven't read it yet, I invite you to check it out in our Fan Fiction Archive!)
Mermista is the first one to speak in my fanfic, picking up on her final line of the series: "So, are we all just, like . . . okay with this?"
And that is the starting point of her story in my fanfic! It literally began with me taking that line and imagining: What comes next?!
In SatPoP, Mermista is introduced in the same episode as Sea Hawk, and their relationship is immediately established as practically definitional of their characters! He is the doting and overenthusiastic romantic, and she is the more down-to-earth, aloof, and disinterested one. Nevertheless, they share a mutual understanding and familiarity with the friction in their relationship and an undeniable bond, such that they are practically always together throughout the series.
And throughout the series, they go through a lot together, they grow to understand each other more, and they definitely grow closer, to the point that Sea Hawk declares his love in the final episodes, and Mermista's look in her final scene with him can only (in my humble opinion) be interpreted as a sort of response in kind.
The same dynamic is true in my fanfic, which begins in the first chapter with Sea Hawk taking things a logical step further and attempting a marriage proposal; however, Mermista instantly puts the brakes on that. Too much, too soon. Mermista admits, "it’s just . . . a little complicated, right now." but reassures him with "It’s okay, though. We’re, like . . . working on it."
That unspoken proposal troubles and intrigues Mermista throughout the entire rest of my fanfic. She broods on it while they are on the ship bringing her people back to Salineas, and it distracts her at Glimmer's "Emergency Princess Sleepover." It is the question she whispers to her father in one of the final times he is able to speak with her.
Throughout the story, Mermista calls on Sea Hawk to be with her and to be involved in the tasks she must take on, including rescuing her people, bonding with the Pearl to help save the planet, mourning the loss of her father, and saving Entrapta's life.
Sea Hawk ends up being the ideal companion, keeping things light and hopeful to keep her energized, while also treating Mermista and her people with respect and sensitivity. He shows that she can rely on him and that he is faithful and trustworthy. And gradually, she convinces herself that not only does his style compliment her own and his spirit nurture hers, but she truly cares about him and longs to deepen their bond.
And at the end of my fanfic, things have developed to the point that Mermista is ready to respond with a shanty proposal of her own!
It was also very important for me to explore Mermista's character as a ruler.
She was shown to be somewhat reluctant in the role in the series, seemingly only taking it on because her father was unavailable.
I decided to look into that a little deeper until I determined that there was an additional stress involved.
Nothing in the series convinced me that her father was actually gone.
He was simply incapable of leading and therefore absent.
That's where I came up with the idea that he was alive but suffering a dementia that made it impossible for him to rule and essential for Mermista to take on that burden (as it seemed to be to her).
Over the course of my fanfic, Mermista developed her leadership abilities, learning to become better at public-speaking, embracing the role of being in command, and accepting that her people would be looking up to her.
Then, the natural d*ath of her father was the final thing that compelled her to have to fully accept that position, and she chose to accept it in her own way, which would not be as a solitary ruler, but instead would invite and practically command that Sea Hawk take a place by her side!
And now, I would like to share some of my very favorite Mermista lines from my fanfic:
Mermista: Uhhh, so, we’ve been getting these weird deadly whirlpools? Out of nowhere. Yeah. Those are fun.
(From My Episode 61: Stay Close (Part Five))
Mermista: [non-committal] Yeah. So, I’ve been, like, perfecting my epic-ness for the last half-hour or so. But, to be honest, . . . this is getting a little boring.
(From My Episode 64: Where There Is Light (Part Four))
Mermista: [firmly] Sea Hawwwk! Would you pleeeease stop drowning yourself? It’s super distracting.
(From My Episode 67: Light In The Mourning (Part Two))
Mermista: Uuuuuuuuum, wasn’t there this super-fast ship that Entrapta and Adora had? The one that could go into space and travel, like, a zillion miles an hour?
Catra and Bow stare at each other wide-eyed as they listen.
Mermista: [from the tracker pad] Yeah, whatever happened to that? ‘Cause, that would come in clutch right now.
(From My Episode 76: The True Heart (Part Two))
Memista: And yeah. I’m your queen now. True. [matter-of-factly] But, I mean, there’s really no need to make a big thing about it because I’m literally doing the same things I did before as your princess.
She shrugs and gestures in a casual dismissal.
Mermista: I mean, . . . can we be real? It’s basically, like the exact same job.
(From My Episode 77: First Things First (Part Three))
Mermista: [to Sea Hawk] See this face? [she pauses] This . . . is my shanty mood!
(From My Episode 77: First Things First (Part Three))
And a few of my favorite Seamista moments!
Sea Hawk: And, also . . . are you feeling better?
Mermista: [smiling at him] Yeah. Thanks. The kelp actually helped a lot. [she looks away with the tiniest blush]
Sea Hawk: Ahh, The generous bounty of the sea. The delicacies of the deep. A cornucopia of delicious delights.
Mermista: So, like . . . have you actually tried kelp?
Sea Hawk: Why, yes.
Mermista: [curious] What did you think? I mean, be honest.
Sea Hawk: [smiling, unashamed] It’s terrible.
(From My Episode 54: Just Friends Ship (Part Three))
Mermista: [directly] I need someone to captain my ships, so I’m offering you a job as . . . ”
He interrupts her, striking a gallant pose and facing bravely into the non-existent wind.
Sea Hawk: [with pride] Captain Sea Hawk! Commander of the fleet!
Mermista: [finishing her previous sentence] Yeah, as my driver. So, if you want the job . . . ?
(From My Episode 56: Throne Room (Part One))
Sea Hawk: [humbly, nodding] My lady.
They smile gently at each other for a short time in silence. Then Mermista looks away, her smile fading.
Mermista: [seriously] Okay, so, like, you’re getting a little heavy, and I’ve got things to do.
She immediately drops him.
(From My Episode 63: Welcome . . . (Part Three))
So what are your thoughts?

I challenge you, especially you yout's, cuz i wanna hear new music: make a mixtape of one of the show-long-ships (Catradora, Glimbow, Seamista)
Here are the rules of the challenge: no more than 14 songs, choose songs that represent each season of the show and what the state of the relationship is during that season, include a SHORT explanation of how the songs describe the relationship. So season one will have a song or two about what their relationship was like in that season, how it changed over seasons 2-5 with the final song(s) celebrating their love.
The short description should look something like mine -
I started my Glimbow with True Colors by Cindy Lauper because it's not necessarily romantic and is about friendship.
