Get comfortable to enjoy my Day 24 fanfic.
Cuddle
I woke from the most incredible dream.
I don't really remember what it was about, but it felt like I had dreamed it before.
I was in a place of warmth.
And I felt safe.
It was bright . . . brighter than the light would be if every moon rose during the middle of the day.
But it didn't bother me or make me feel nervous.
And I was being held by the brightness.
I didn't see anyone, but It felt like somebody was watching over me.
Like they were looking down on me with caring eyes.
And it was strange, but beautiful.
Because even though I had never felt like that before -- not in the Fright Zone, not in Bright Moon -- it somehow seemed familiar.
I don't remember anything else about it, but as I was waking up, I still had that feeling of safety and comfort.
And there was the pressure of warm skin against my chest.
The smell of sweet spices and a soothing heat all around me.
I took a deep breath and sighed.
Then I heard a sigh in response to mine. It sounded gentle and perfectly contented.
I blinked and opened my eyes. Steam rose around me, and I saw pink hair under my nose.
Glimmer was asleep, leaning against me in the pool.
I could feel her body moving as she breathed.
My hands were rested lightly on her arms, and I realized that I was holding her. Almost cradling her, like I was cradled in my dream.
It felt so natural and peaceful.
I realized that it was something that had just happened by itself, while we were both asleep, with no thought or intention behind it.
I remembered that Glimmer had been trying to reassure me.
She and Bow were both trying to help me to relax.
And I really wanted to, but it just isn't in my nature.
But they were so kind.
Glimmer held my hands and slowly and patiently led me into the warm, healing waters. And she kept holding my hands. And I was glad that she did.
She was holding them even as we both drifted off.
And I had my dream.
And when I woke up . . . I was holding her.
I don't know how that happened.
I don't know how I had become so close, so fast, with Glimmer, and with Bow.
But it made me smile.
It felt so good to feel that safe, that relaxed.
I wished it could last.
Even though I knew it couldn't.
But for at least a moment, I finally felt peace.
