Greetings, wonderful wiki-friends! 😄
It is getting very near the end of this episode, and a lot has happened so far in Episode 75: Open Heart Part 2:
Adora expresses her doubts to Catra about Entrapta's solution to recovering the magic of her fellow princesses. She collapses, reacting to a powerful force. (Part One) Bow and Glimmer run into Double Trouble, who has been building their popularity as a morale booster for Bright Moon's guards. But in the middle of their conversation, Double Trouble makes a hasty exit, just as Catra shows up to ask for help. (Part Two) The Best Friends Squad rushes to Adora's aid, learning from her that Entrapta is activating the Heart of Etheria weapon. Hordak, seeing trouble from afar, heads toward the Chamber of the Heart. (Part Three) The part of Entrapta that wants to stop the Heart reasserts partial control and contacts Bow via tracker pad (Part Four). She informs her friends of the truth: a hidden Runestone embedded within her has activated her First Ones programming, compelling her to reactivate the Heart of Etheria. It is affecting both Adora and Glimmer, willing them to join the weapon, but they manage to teleport to the entrance to the chamber of the Heart. (Part Five) However, they are repelled by a force-field initiated by Entrapta while she tries to shut down the systems. Catra and Swift Wind leave Bow on a mission to rescue Adora and Glimmer. (Part Six)
I would like to dedicate this week's chapter to my friend Emmeline ( @Spider wed )! I hope you'll see why, and that you like it!
This is quite a short chapter, but only because it is part of a special series of postings over this coming week, as the plot-pace rises to a new climactic level! 😊
So stay tuned for another story post in a couple of days!
Ready? Okay.
Here. We. Go!
Adora lies prone on the ground.
She groans, blinking her eyes, trying to focus on the dark blur directly above her.
A deep voice calls her name.
Voice: [nudging] Adora.
Adora opens her eyes, squinting and staring overhead. The indistinct figure above her is blurred against a background of stars, but it wears a grayish-white robe with broad shoulders, and it looks down at her with softly glowing eyes set in a slightly angular head.
Adora: [groggily] Liiight . . . Hope??
Suddenly, the features of the figure resolve themselves. It reaches out a strong hand to grasp hers, helping her to her feet.
Adora: [coming to her senses] Hordak.
Hordak: [with some concern] Are you all right?
Adora stands up, a little shaky, still holding Hordak’s hand, touching her head with her other hand. She nods slowly.
Adora: Yeah. I’m okay. [looking around, with concern] Glimmer?
Glimmer’s cheerful voice comes from a couple of feet behind her.
Glimmer: Here!
Adora turns to see Glimmer sitting on the ground, mostly recovered, looking a bit battered, but smiling.
Glimmer: [upbeat] I’m fine. Just a little . . .
She grunts as she starts to rise to her feet. The brace on her right leg creaks a bit, the joint slightly damaged. Glimmer sighs and straightens up.
Glimmer: [smiling] A little stiff.
Adora smiles back at Glimmer’s attitude.
She turns to Hordak, who has released her hand and looks at her sternly.
Hordak: [seriously] I’m here for Entrapta. I fear she may need help.
Adora matches his serious gaze.
Adora: Then help us first.
Hordak nods to her, and Adora bends down to pick up her sword.
