Welcome to the third part of this episode, and I'm glad you're here! 😊
The drama continues!
Previously in Episode 75:
Part One: Adora opens up to Catra about her worries, but then she collapses!
Part Two: Glimmer and Bow find the source of the good mood shared by the guards of Bright Moon, and Catra calls on their help.
Adora is in trouble.
But the New Best Friends Squad is coming to her aid.
What is going on?
And will their help be enough?
I'm gonna dedicate this to Vivian ( @Duck270 ) and our dear wiki mascot Marcus! 😁
'Cause they're both super-cool!
Hope you enjoy!
In Catra’s and Adora’s bedroom at Bright Moon, the air ignites in a large burst of pink sparkles that momentarily flashes into blinding existence and then quickly resolves into the forms of Glimmer touching the shoulders of Bow on one side of her and Catra on the other.
The moment they arrive, Glimmer steps forward, reaching out to her suffering friend.
Adora is on her knees, hugging her arms and shaking in a painful struggle. She grits her teeth and looks up at her friends with fierce, wide eyes.
Glimmer takes another step forward.
Glimmer: [shocked and concerned] Adora! What’s wro--
Adora: [fiercely] Don’t touch me!!
Glimmer stops short.
Glimmer: [hesitantly] I --
Adora: [firmly] Don’t! [her voice trembling] It’s not safe!
Glimmer turns to Bow and Catra, unsure. Catra looks toward Bow and Glimmer with an expression of desperate worry.
Bow steps forward, holding his palms out in acquiescence.
Bow: [in tense reassurance] Okay. We won’t. But what’s happening, Adora? How can we help?
Adora squeezes her eyes shut tightly, shaking her head like there is a battle raging within.
Adora: [earnestly] You have to stop her!!
Glimmer and Catra look at each other, each shaking her head, as Bow continues speaking as calmly as he can.
Bow: Who, Adora? Stop who?!
Adora grits her teeth as a spasm assaults her.
Adora: [struggling] Errrrgghhhh-Entrapta!! [catching her breath] It’s Entrapta!!
The color seems to drain from Glimmer’s face a bit as she speaks.
Glimmer: What? What do you mean?
Adora opens her eyes and looks up at them. Tears of anger and sadness spill from her eyes.
Adora: [in a low, deadly voice] Entrapta has betrayed us.
Glimmer takes a step forward.
Glimmer: [horrified, disbelieving] Betrayed us?! But . . .!
She looks over to Bow, shaking her head.
Bow looks steadily down at Adora.
Bow: [worried, but keeping his voice even] Adora. That is im-poss-ible. Entrapta would never do that. She couldn’t.
Catra comes closer and dares to crouch down beside Adora.
Catra: [her voice a little shaky with fear and worry] Adora. How do you know? What happened?
Adora turns to look her girlfriend in the eyes. She sees the concern through the waves of tears. Her voice emerges as a sob.
Adora: [frightened] I can feel it, Catra! It’s trying to take control of me! It wants me to transform!
Glimmer takes a step backward, stricken.
Glimmer: No.
Bow glances worriedly at Glimmer.
Catra: [urgently] What does?!
Adora stares at her, trembling.
Adora: [sobbing] It’s the Heart.
She turns toward Bow again.
Adora: [with defiant intensity] Entrapta has activated the Heart of Etheria!
The night sky sparkles with brilliant stars overhead, high above the silent Valley of the Heart. The numerous clusters of elegant alabaster towers standing on the valley floor seem already to be taking their slumber, quiet and peaceful. They glow softly in the starlight: a comforting, cool, pale greenish-white.
Hordak walks amongst the buildings like a self-assured monarch, taking slow, long strides, his hands held behind his back and his gaze angled downward in an attitude of contemplation. He rounds a corner and pauses, standing between two of the exquisitely-crafted structures that comprise his village of pristine tranquility.
Taking a prolonged deep breath, he shifts his gaze to the heavens, surveying the sparkling dome overhead. Despite his air of formality and the hard angles of his features, he permits a warm smile to bloom across his face. It is a private expression of delight and wonder at the world and its fortunes, which have brought him to this state and place of long-desired serenity.
Hordak directs his attention across the veil of stars to rest upon the summit of a megalithic spire in the distance -- one of the final remnants of the invasion of Horde Prime. It stands against the sky, gentle in its presence as a benign shadow in the night.
Hordak’s smile softens further at the thought of Entrapta and her joyful pursuit of discovery beneath the spire, within the underground Chamber of the Heart.
He begins to trace his vision along the shape of the spire from peak to base, and he frowns at an unusual sight. Rising from the valley floor at the foot of the spire are liquid waves of rainbow light, as if the earth is on fire.
And it is spreading.
Growing.
Hordak gasps, and his eyes widen in alarm.
All at once, he begins to run toward the lights.
