It's the beginning of a new episode, my dear readers and awesome friends! 😄
Exciting times as we prepare to learn just whether the princesses' magic really can be restored!
And for those of you who like trouble, hoo-boy there shall be plenty!
Prepare for humor, excitement, a bit of angst and confusion, and something verrrrrry unusual and special to come! All of it will be happening as this episode unfolds over the coming several weeks.
Honestly, I can hardly wait!!! 😃
Before we begin, though, it's time for a recap
(You can skip it if you want. Just scroll down to the Dedication.)
My Season Six told the story of a terrible catastrophe facing Etheria, threatening every living thing on the planet!
Along the way, other stories were told, including:
Mermista's adventure with Sea Hawk to bring the scattered Salineans back home.
Scorpia's journey to reclaim her kingdom, reunite with her old friends, and create friendship between the former Horde soldiers and the princesses, with the help of Perfuma.
Frosta's reunion with her parents and her leadership in saving her kingdom from a threat of starvation.
Spinnerella and Netossa aiding the princesses' mission with their special form of teamwork.
Lonnie, Kyle, and Rogelio helping Scorpia under extremely dangerous circumstances!
Catra's struggle to adjust to life in Bright Moon, as well as helping Mystacor in their troubles, forming an unexpected friendship with Castaspella.
Glimmer welcoming her father home to Castle Bright Moon and, with Bow's help, becoming a better queen in the new times of peace.
Adora deepening her relationship with Catra, leading missions to Mystacor and the Valley of the Heart, and coming to terms with her own past trauma.
Entrapta's journeys back to Beast Island, where she discovers glitches in the First Ones' global systems, meets with the other princesses to form a plan, and then, together with Bow, does the critical coordination required to shut down the system from the Chamber of the Heart.
My Season Seven sees the aftermath of the princesses' sacrifices to save Etheria, which has resulted in the unexpected loss of their magic, and injury to Queen Glimmer.
In Episode 67: Light In The Mourning Glimmer recovers from serious injury, and each of the princesses begin to cope with the loss of their magic, while Entrapta begins her investigation to discover the reason behind it.
In Episode 68: The Beginnings of Magic Adora and Mara each seek help from Razz, who leads them to each other. Bow returns home, and Glimmer leaves for Mystacor with Catra and Swift Wind. While they are gone, Double Trouble returns to Bright Moon with a hidden agenda!
In Episode 69: Things Everywhere, All At Once Adora and Juliet begin their interrogation of Double Trouble, Mermista visits her father, Frosta is consoled by her mother, Glimmer and Catra seek healing in Mystacor, and Entrapta and Wink find considerable danger on the Tree Moon.
In Episode 70: To Seek the Heart of Magic Adora learns the truth (?) from Double Trouble, Catra reunites with a friend, and Entrapta and Wink reach their goal.
And in Episode 71: To Find the Heart of Magic Scorpia and Perfuma see a hard-won peace between their peoples, Micah shares new insights on the magic of Etheria with Glimmer, and Entrapta completes a stunning experiment with the princesses in Bright Moon.

EPISODE 72: Waking to Trouble
The early sunlight weaves its way through a throng of gently swaying branches along the border of a bright clearing within the Whispering Woods. Lining its edges, younger trees lift their limbs and dance in the breeze at the feet of their towering elders. And at the heart of the clearing, a broad temple-like building of rose-hued marble stands with an air of venerable serenity, its columns gleaming in the warm morning light.
Inside this peaceful mansion, in a cozy, wood-paneled room lined with bookcase-embedded walls, rosy light touches the foot of a friendly four-poster bed. Within the bed, snuggled beneath a maroon comforter, Bow, hero of the Rebellion, lies peacefully on his side, a tiny smile on his face.
With a slight groan, Bow shifts positions, rolling to his back. As his head shakes gently to settle into the pillows, he stretches one arm over his head and sighs, eyes still closed.
Bow: [sleepily] Herrghhh. Mmmmmmm.
For a moment, the room is silent and Bow exhales, relaxing deeply into the bed.
His eyelids flutter a little, and then open lazily, at first just a narrow slit, but gradually blinking wider.
A pair of large dark blotches appear above him, which suddenly resolve into 2 pairs of grinning eyes above wide rows of sparkling teeth, leering from above, as if ready to pounce!
Bow: [shocked awake, eyes bugging] Yee-Aiaaagh!!
Bow sits straight up, launching himself rearwards in a scrabbling motion, as if trying to scale the head-board backwards!
He sits up panting and facing his smiling parents!
Lance chuckles warmly, turning to his spouse.
Lance: [charmed] Oh, George, it’s just exactly like he used to do when he was a baby! Remember?
George nods, an amused grin on his face.
George: [nostalgically] Ah, I remember.
Bow frowns angrily, glancing from one to the other.
Bow: What?!
George: [cheerfully] Good morning, son.
Lance: [warmly] Did you sleep well, Bow? We’ve got a hot breakfast cooking! Your favorite! It’s almost ready.
Bow squeezes his eyes shut and shakes his head irritatedly for a moment. When he opens his eyes, he emphasizes his words with large motions of his hands.
Bow: [perturbed] What are you two doing here?!?
Lance: [brightly] Oh, we were watching you sleep!
Bow stares at them, confounded.
Bow: Why??
George frowns.
George: Well . . . it’s very peaceful. And . . .
Lance: And . . . and it’s been so long since you’ve slept over, Bow! We’re just . . . [becoming a little teary] . . . oh, gosh! We’re just so happy to have you here!
Lance begins sobbing a little.
George moves close to Lance and lays his hands on Lance’s shoulders.
George: [turning to Bow] We just get a little emotional about it, Bow. Can you blame us? We love you, son.
Bow’s frown softens a little.
Bow: [quietly] I love you both, too, dads. And you’re really sweet. Buuuut . . . could you pleeeease . . . ?
George pats Lance’s shoulders and nods.
George: Of course. We’ll give you your space. Come on, Lance.
Lance nods, still sniffing a little.
Lance: [with a twinge] I guess we’ll just go, then.
Bow smiles, still a little awkward in the situation.
Bow: Okay! Right! Uhhh, see ya soon, dads.
Lance accompanies George, glancing back at Bow.
Lance: [with a tiny sob] We’ll see you for breakfast, Bow.
George: [reassuring] Thaaat’s right. Bow will just have to . . . [with a sly smile] eggs-cuse us, so we can finish making breakfast.
Lance turns to George and tosses his head back with glee.
Lance: [explosively] B-heh! Ha! Eg--eggs-cuse!! Ha-ha-ha-ha! Uh-hee-hee-hee!
George: [grinning, chuckling] Heh-heh-heh-heh-heh!
Bow: [a little forced] Ee-yeah! Ha! Ha! Ha!
As they reach the door, Lance puts a hand on the doorframe, as if he needs it for support.
Lance: [wheezing] Ohhh! Haaaaa! Ho-ho! That was . . . [almost in a normal voice] That was really terrible, George.
George laughs a little more.
George: [in good humor] I know, dear. I know.
Bow smiles with affection as his dads exit the room and gently shut the door.
Then, he takes a deep breath, and groans tiredly.
His eyes shut as he collapses back onto the pillows and jerks the comforter firmly over his head.
