Catra and Adora are on a little adventure together that leads to an interesting and dangerous discovery.
Micah's return to Bright Moon is coming soon.
And I am going to focus some special attention on a couple of characters that I haven't gotten to yet, which I think will be a nice surprise for you all.
But first, Mermista and Sea Hawk finally make it back to Salineas, and things are not the same as when Mermista saw it last.
For those who love Seamista, I hope I don't disappoint.

EPISODE 56: Throne Room
The prow of the Dragon’s Daughter V cuts smoothly through a calmed ocean toward the harbors of Salineas, and the great Sea Gate gleams powerfully in the mid-day sun. Yet, scattered across the face of Mermista’s beloved city, there remain ample reminders of the defeated Horde occupation. Exquisite shell-shaped buildings stand with their ceilings crushed in. Scorch marks mar the walls, and the great tridents of the gate itself have been broken off. Detritus and rubble is littered everywhere.
Mermista stands on the forward deck, frowning, her fists clenched, her body shaking, and a single tear rolling down one cheek.
Sea Hawk watches her, concerned, from the wheel of the ship, as he slows the vessel beside the landing. He moves toward Mermista’s side, but before he can reach her, she has leapt to the ground, landing at a run. He follows, and by the time his boots touch the land, she has stopped and picked something up in her hands.
An attendant/guard is running forward to meet them, calling out.
Attendant: [breathless and excited] My Lady Mermista! Your majesty!
Mermista ignores him as he makes his way along the roadway from the battlements of the Sea Gate. In silence and still, she grips the fabric in her hands, trembling. Sea Hawk approaches cautiously and lays a hand on her shoulder, but he pulls back as she explosively rips the red cloth in two with a cry of anguish and rage.
Mermista: [screaming] Errrrghhhaaah!!!
The attendant, as shocked as Sea Hawk, falls to his knees at Mermista’s feet, bowing his head.
Attendant: [quietly] Your majesty, we humbly and gratefully welcome your return.
Mermista: [enraged] Why . . . is this Horde garbage allowed to just . . . lie around on the ground of our city?!!!
The attendant takes a moment to collect his words, but Mermista cuts him off before he starts.
Mermista: [holding the pieces of the flag close to his face] My people have been tormented enough, but now we are free! Never again will we let our beautiful kingdom be stained with . . . this!
Attendant: [pleading] If you please, your majesty, there are still so few of us, and we have been busy caring for helpless refugees arriving at our shores.
At his words, Mermista’s anger begins to leave her eyes, and there is only a distant sadness.
Mermista: [taken aback] Refugees?
Her hand drops to her side, and she lets the scraps of flag fall. Looking down at her attendant, she speaks with a softer tone, laying one hand on his shoulder.
Mermista: [gently] Stand up. Show me the refugees.
The man stands up to face her, and nodding his head, he beckons her to follow.
As she walks after, Sea Hawk remains behind for a moment, and quietly sets fire to the Horde flag, using a torch that he somehow happened to have with him. It quickly turns to ashes.
Sea Hawk follows Mermista and the Attendant into the city, where, amidst temporary fabric-walled shelters, many dozens of people from many different lands of Etheria gather in small groups. Some of their expressions bespeak a listless fatigue. Others seem haunted, full of loss. A few of them turn toward Mermista as she enters the street. One in particular, a youth with drooping ears and threadbare clothes, pulls a sea-green and silver blanket around herself, and stares with wide-eyed wonder at the Princess. The child smiles shyly at her, eliciting a small grin that brightens Mermista’s eyes and softens her worry-toughened features.
Looking around, she sees Salineans, her people, moving amongst the huddled figures, handing out bowls of food, clothing, as well as words of encouragement and hopeful expressions. They are few among many, but Mermista nods with admiration at their dedicated effort. She turns to her Attendant again.
Mermista: [softly, with warmth in her voice] Keep it up. You’ve done good here.
He nods in acknowledgement and smiles, then bows and turns back to continue the work with the others.
Mermista looks over her shoulder at Sea Hawk. He stands just behind her, affecting a nonchalant pose against a nearby pillar, but looking her way with misty eyes. She turns to him and takes a deep breath.
Mermista: [Gesturing loosely with one hand] Listen. Sea Hawk? I have a proposal.
Sea Hawk: [Brightly] Ahhh!
Beaming, the pirate lithely springs from the pillar, reaching within his jacket to pull forth a lush bouquet of flowers, which he places in Mermista’s hand with a flourish.
She stares at them a moment, raising an eyebrow.
Mermista: Uhhh, this is . . . Yeah, no.
After a pause, she tosses the flowers over her shoulder, her eyes again on Sea Hawk. In the background, the Attendant quietly leaps for the flowers, catching them carefully with both hands, and hurries away with them. Mermista continues as if unaware of the action behind her.
Mermista: [Frowning, fingers on her forehead] Look, hear me out, okay? [Looking up again] I’ve still got this staffing issue . . . , aaaand it’s kind of a drag because most of my people have, like, fled or whatever. So, now, I really wanna find them, so I can say, “Heeeey, come home. It’s okay. The Horde is no longer a thing.”
She looks him straight in the eyes.
Mermista: [directly] I need someone to captain my ships, so I’m offering you a job as . . . ”
He interrupts her, striking a gallant pose and facing bravely into the non-existent wind.
Sea Hawk: [with pride] Captain Sea Hawk! Commander of the fleet!
Mermista: [finishing her previous sentence] Yeah, as my driver. So, if you want the job . . . ?
Sea Hawk turns toward her, gathering her hands in his, and dropping dramatically to one knee.
Sea Hawk: [with passion] Destiny has brought me to this moment! And I am prepared to serve you on the seas, to the utmost limit, and with the last breath of my body!
As he speaks, Mermista rolls her eyes and looks away, as if pretending she doesn’t actually know this person.
Sea Hawk: [his voice rising] Through trials, adventures, and at the hazard of my very life! With honor and courage, I would . . .
Mermista: [cutting him off] Uggghhhh! Okay, you’re hired, don’t make a thing out of it.
She quickly drops his hands and walks away. Still kneeling, he looks after her, beaming.
Sea Hawk: [cheerfully] Then I accept.
