Hello, here is the first part of my second episode in my version of season 6.
It's a sequel to this:
Mermista and Sea Hawk sail the Dragon's Daughter V on their way back to Salineas as the New Best Friend's Squad wake up on the Plain of Heroes.
Hope you like it!
EPISODE 54: Just Friends Ship
On the high seas of Etheria, a sleek and elegant vessel skims over the waters. In the clear mid-morning light, Sea Hawk leaps from sail to sail, checking the rigging and adjusting the lines. He breathes deeply the ocean-spray air around him, grinning and whistling a little tune. He climbs up the mizzen mast, then leaps to the mainsail, and leans forward with a hand shading his brow, gazing off to the horizon. His inner spirit emerges in a loud call as he poses heroically.
Sea Hawk: Adventure!!! Uh, ah . . .
He glances around, and his face falls a bit, seeing no one around to appreciate his piratical prowess. Sighing, he slides down the mast, landing gracefully upon the deck. Approaching a doorway to an inner cabin, he leans in close and gently calls through the door.
Sea Hawk: Mermistaaaaa . . . The beauty of a morning on the sea calls to this old sailor’s heart!
He cockily opens the door a crack, and leans inward.
Sea Hawk: The daylight beckons, Princess, and bids a shanty greeting! Ohhhhhhhhhhh . . .
With a swishing and a thunk, a large trident impacts brutally against the door a few inches from Sea Hawks body, and he jumps with a little yelp.
Sea Hawk: Oh. A little more sleep, then, my dear? The daylight will wait.
He quickly but quietly shuts the door and tip-toes away.
The sun has risen over the Plain of Heroes. Still low on the horizon, it tinges the field a gentle gold, coloring the hills beyond in hues of green and light violet. The New Best Friends Squad lie where they settled the night before, not far from the descent to the Valley of the Heart. Bow and Glimmer are asleep, facing each other, foreheads and hands touching. Adora lies an arm-stretch from Bow, relaxed on her back, whether dozing or lazing, while Catra is curled up beside her most definitely snoozing with a faint snore.
There is a snuffling, munching sound, and a great white muzzle shoves its way between Adora and Catra’s head. It is the eagerly chewing maw of Swift Wind, the great white, winged unicorn bound to Adora through She-Ra.
As Swift Wind’s face presses up against her ear, Catra opens one teal eye, only to find herself staring at the point of a golden glowing spear. She shrieks and rolls out of the way, leaping up to a crouch, eyes wide and claws bared.
Adora, rouses a little, opening sleepy eyes and smiling at Swift Wind’s face. She reaches both arms over her head to caress his cheeks.
Adora: [with sleepy sweetness] Swiftyyyyy!
Catra relaxes a little, dropping her arms to her thighs and smiling.
Catra: [shaking her head] Wow, Adora! Only you would put up with a weird magical animal friend getting in your face first thing in the morning!
Swift Wind raises his head to stare. Suddenly, Melog materializes in front of Catra, drawing her attention away with crooning in an echoey voice. Catra lights up, grabbing its neck.
Catra: [happily] Melog, hey!
The otherworldly catlike creature nuzzles her cheek and topples her. Swift Wind watches them tumble on the grass as Catra giggles. He raises an ironic eyebrow.
Swift Wind: [non-plussed] Hmm. Interesting.
Turning back to the patch of grass he was enjoying, he continues his breakfast, tickling Adora’s cheek as he does.
Adora: [laughing, playfully pushing back at his face] Hey! There’s a whole field, you know!
Swift Wind: [mumbling through mouthfuls] You know, this stuff is great! There’s nothing like the fresh stuff! Whatever you did with that sword, you should do it more often.
Adora: [amused] Riiiiiiiiight.
There is a dull tired moan from a few feet away.
Adora: [more awake now, sing-songy] Good morning, Glimmer!
Glimmer: Uggggggh. Too early.
Bow seems wide awake. He leans up on one elbow. Adora stretches and sits up, patting Swift Wind’s neck with one hand, then deftly fixing her ponytail with a few quick motions. Everyone stares quietly down at the huddled form of the princess, who seems with effort of will to be physically denying the possibility of being awake.
Catra strides over, completely alert, with Melog close behind her.
Catra: So, are we ready to go, or what?
Adora: [brightly] Yep.
Bow: Ready.
Glimmer: Errrrrrrrrr!
[More soon!]
